Playing (Blog) Catch Up

Eeek. Did it again. Totally let this blog slide. I’ve said this before, but professional bloggers- I have mad respect for ya’ll.

I’d like to say that I was just SO busy with work or that I went on some monumental life-changing adventures to explain my absence, but the reality is that I’ve just been posting everything to instagram and completely neglecting this site. It’s just too easy, that instant gratification of posting finished work (and I’m definitely guilty of using emojis in place of actual sentences for my captions.) Yeah, I’m totally in. Pretty deep. So while I’m absolutely going to make an effort to get this blog running again- I’m still gonna be on instagram. SO you might as well check that out too. Follow me @likelylexi

All that being said- I really do want to be better at blogging! So here I am (again) playing catch up.

Let’s tie up some loose ends:

Holiday Window Drawings // Winter 2014

There’s also a really nice interview post about both holiday windows I did for Rare Device here. I sadly never got great photos of the other two windows I did- but I have enlisted some very talented photographer friends to make sure that doesn’t happen again. I currently have my Valentine window displays waiting to be photographed (!!)

Thanks for being patient with me, whoever is reading this. More soon.

Etsy Love // Autumn Vibes

We’ve had a few beautifully dreary days in San Francisco and I hope they keep coming. We’ve also still had lots of hot days. Haven’t you heard warm sun and blue skies? I have too many cozy sweaters and spend too long by big windows to deal with you. Plus, overcast chilly days are my ideal work days. Here’s some fall themed etsy love.

The color palette of this print is so dreary good. That dog. That pipe.  <3

Fox Knit

I don’t knit, but yes I’ll take this fox bowl to hold my yarn please. (I have yarn regardless of not knitting. That crafty.)

Smitten Mittens

Give me this ghost pin.

Blue Mugs

I think I’m becoming obsessed with beautiful ceramic mugs. These blue and gold glazed mugs are so cozy/dreamy.

I want to spend lovely lazy days like this. Yelena you are too good.

Corner No. 1

I’ve been living in my current house for about three years, which means it’s taken me three years to start decorating, nesting, and what not. I guess I didn’t think we’d be in this house so long, or because I had renter-paranoia and didn’t want to invest in painting or putting up shelves. But like I said, three years. It’s time.

This house is too big to take on all at once, so I’ve been decorating one corner at a time. I wanted to share my first corner that I’ve been working on: The corner of my bedroom.

Picture Frames: Thrifted // Necklace Dispay: Made by me //  Night Stand and Rug: IKEA // Vanity Chair: Sidewalk Sale (that I spray painted gold) // Mirror: ROSS (that I also spray painted gold) // Yellow Flower: Fiber Florist // Fox Letter Opener: Mystery Mister // Bedside Book Holder: DIY // Art Prints and Cards: Yelena Bryksenkova, Colpa Press, Rifle Paper Co., Satchel & Sage,  People I’ve Loved , Vintage and thrifted finds

Something Floral, Something New

I worked on a little something for a good friend of mine. She’s the maid of honor in an upcoming wedding and wanted to give a personal piece to the bride-to-be. I only had about a day to work on this, so I kinda gave myself creative-reign! It may not have been exactly what she was asking for, but hey, if it’s free and I have a super quick deadline, I’m pretty sure that means I get to do whatever I want, right?

And I really like it!

This is the original bouquet pattern I made. I think it would make super sweet gift wrap or something.

It’s been so quiet on here, eek.

I’ve been really enjoying my new job. Not only is it just a wonderful work environment, but it’s also allowed me to learn so much about wholesale and product-based branding. I feel very right-time/right-place, right now.

Here’s a few snaps of what’s been going on here:

Roos and I finally took the plunge and bought a fancy epson printer! I love it! I can’t wait to stock-up on beautiful printing paper. // I got my flower crown pug and teacups screen printed by the amazing ALL GOLD // My job is the best!! Thank you ZELMA ROSE for packaging my cross-stitch heart necklace SO beautifully (and thank you Kehau for the dreamy-lit photo!) // I played with a lot of crystal/geode pattern ideas. I’m sure we’ll see more of these… // I’m embroidering beautiful sounding words onto watercolor paper. Super excited about this, but it’s pretty slow. This is a snippet of the word “Susurrus” // A tiny fair I did at the end of March. Looking at my fellow crafty girls, GREEN HORSE CRAFT and FIBER FLORIST, I need to step up my table decoration! // Happy Mother’s Day Mom!

I love combing through all of the etsy shops! I thought I would share some of my current favorites! These ones in particular were on my christmas wish list (and some I may have added for a january wish-list…)

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I can’t believe it’s already 2014. Everything feels so new, and fresh, and approachable right now! Cheers!

Christmas Time is Here

I can’t believe we’re already really into December!! Ahhh I have so much to do! This is going to be me and Roos’s first Christmas away from our families, which totally bummed me out at first, but I think if we try we can really make it something special. So we need to jump on that holiday-spirit train quick!

A week ago we ventured out and bought our first christmas ornament together. Baby steps.
